Which projects does this service suit?

Suitable if …

  • You want a clearly defined purchase journey reviewed before rebuilding.
  • You do not yet have a reliable analytics baseline.

Not suitable if …

  • You expect a complete shop audit or a guaranteed increase in revenue.

What this covers

Why aren't visitors buying in my online shop?

Visitors add a product to the basket but do not order. Is the selection difficult, delivery information missing or the offer itself unclear? We review the visible usability of one product page and the basket. You do not need analytics data.

What a purchase journey check actually shows

For each finding, the report identifies the location in the shop, explains the assessment and suggests a change or further investigation. Your team can tackle tasks in a useful order. The check cannot calculate how much revenue a change will generate.

Does this sound familiar?

Uncertainty after adding an item

You choose a blue jacket in size M. The basket shows only the item name. We follow the selection that far and flag missing or conflicting feedback.

Shopping feels cumbersome on mobile

On a phone, a notice covers the size selector, or shipping costs sit behind a hard-to-find link. We follow the same purchase journey on small and large screens.

How we approach it.

  1. Define the product and purchase task

We choose a product and a typical selection, such as a jacket's size and colour. With many variants, we define a specific task. The report then relates precisely to that purchase journey.

  2. Trace the journey

We go through product information, selection and basket. For each finding, we state the location and trigger so your team can find and check it in the shop.

  3. Prioritise changes

For each finding, we suggest a specific change or further investigation. Where data or a user test is needed to clarify a hypothesis, we say so. Your team receives a reasoned task list rather than a blanket collection of faults.

After handover

Pass findings to the responsible person: product details can be added editorially; usability changes go to design or development. If you also want existing analytics data considered, choose the shop diagnosis. Its purchase journey scope is not charged again for the same project.

After your enquiry

What we clarify next.

Ask about this service ↗

After your enquiry, we choose the purchase journey together. Consider which product and selection cause difficulties, such as a size, an accessory or the move into the basket.

Recurring questions help us understand the issue. Describe them without customer data. If analytics data is needed, we agree the period and access with you afterwards.

Terms used in this service

What does that mean?

Purchase barrier
A point that makes shopping harder, such as an unclear size or missing basket feedback. Whether it leads to abandonment must be investigated separately.
Qualitative review
An examination describing which usability problem occurs at a specific location. Its frequency cannot be calculated from this alone.
Prioritisation
The order in which tasks should be addressed. The report explains the reasoning, for example that a missing measurement directly makes selection harder.
Before your enquiry

Questions about the offer.

What is included, what do you need and what happens after your enquiry?

The process in detail →
Do I need Google Analytics or Matomo for the check?

No. The publicly accessible product page and basket, plus a short description of your products, are sufficient. The check examines visible usability. It does not calculate an abandonment rate or replace analysis of usage data.

Is the entire ordering process reviewed?

One product page and the basket are included. A complete checkout with every payment and shipping variant is outside this small package. State your specific question in the enquiry so the right scope is established before the quotation.

Will I have to build a new shop afterwards?

No. Missing size guidance or unclear feedback often needs a targeted change to the existing shop. The check includes neither a relaunch nor an obligation to have us implement the recommendations.

Are the problems found fixed directly?

You receive recommendations and one written follow-up round. Implementation is excluded. Your team can handle it; if you need support, we agree a separate order.

Does the check work for Shopify or WooCommerce too?

Yes. We review the visible product page and basket in your shop system. Theme, app or integration changes belong to a separate implementation order.

How does a user test differ?

The check is a professional review of the agreed journey. A user test observes actual participants completing tasks. If you want to know how people understand a specific selection, a separate user test can answer that different question.

When does work begin?

The work window is confirmed in writing before commissioning. Work starts once all required materials are available.

Which access is needed?

An existing shop with an accessible product page and basket A brief description of your products and the main purchase decision No tracking access required; do not send customer data Credentials must not be included in the enquiry. Details are agreed only after written commissioning.

What happens after handover?

One written follow-up round is included. The service scope lists the analyses, designs or technical changes covered by the package. We agree additional work with you before it begins.
