Which projects does this service suit?

Suitable if …

  • An existing application should use an external service
  • Data is currently transferred manually between two applications

Not suitable if …

  • The external provider offers no usable access
  • Several systems need ongoing synchronisation with complex conflict rules
Possible overlaps with: Keep data in sync between systems. If you enquire about these services for the same project, we check for duplicated work before commissioning. Your selection also shows a notice.
What this covers

How do we connect our application to another system?

API integration translates your application's data into an existing service's format and processes responses. Examples include passing an enquiry to a CRM or retrieving shipping status. We limit the connection to one data type and up to three documented endpoints.

Before implementation, we clarify which system supplies each detail and what happens if transfer fails. Provider access, plan and technical limits must fit. Test data verifies the connection; credentials belong in secure configuration, not browser code.

A connection needs success and failure rules

A successful network call does not always mean the business process is complete. Some services initially only accept a task. We check each response's meaning and represent it appropriately in your application.

Retries need rules too. Resending after a timeout must not accidentally create duplicates. Available safeguards depend on the API. Agreed limits and remaining cases are documented.

Does this sound familiar?

An existing service needs integration

The provider has the function, but your application does not use it yet. We check access, formats and endpoints actually required.

Manual transfer creates work

Recurring handovers can use an API. We first define transferred fields and the system holding authoritative details.

A simple connection fails on error cases

Timeouts and invalid responses need deliberate behaviour. Integration considers agreed cases and keeps unresolved transfers traceable.

How we approach it.

  1. Review data flow and API

We align documentation, test access and required fields. Business ownership and plan and access restrictions are clarified beforehand.

  2. Develop the connection with error handling

Data is validated and mapped. Authentication, response processing and agreed retry rules are implemented in the existing backend.

  3. Test and hand over integration

Tests cover normal responses and relevant failures. Handover describes configuration, field mapping and handling failed transfers.

After handover

The integration uses the existing provider's capabilities. Its own interface cannot replace missing functions or assurances from that external system.

A running connection needs maintenance when API versions, credentials or plans change. Permanent monitoring and maintenance are separate services.

After your enquiry

What we clarify next.

Ask about this service ↗

Describe the intended function and an example of a successful process. Name existing systems and the roles involved without sharing real customer data or credentials.

After your enquiry, we clarify which data the function processes, which rules it must follow and which systems it must contact. Required documents and test access are agreed separately.

Terms used in this service

What does that mean?

Application programming interface (API)
A defined way to use a system's functions or data programmatically. The provider specifies access, format and permitted actions.
Field mapping
Defining which source-system value belongs in which destination field. This may include renaming, format conversion and required-value rules.
Idempotency
The ability to handle a repeated operation without an additional business effect. Availability must be checked for the specific API.
Before your enquiry

Questions about the offer.

What is included, what do you need and what happens after your enquiry?

The process in detail →
Can any service be connected?

A usable API or suitable integration method is required. We check specific documentation and permissions before confirming scope.

Is this the same as an n8n workflow?

Both can connect systems. This package covers direct integration in an existing backend. A limited automation-platform flow may be another suitable solution.

What happens if the provider fails?

Agreed error and retry cases are implemented. Whether a case is retried automatically later or reviewed manually is defined for the specific service.

Are API fees included?

No. Usage costs, plans and external provider accounts remain separate. Their technical requirements are considered in planning.

Is existing data transferred retrospectively?

A large historical import is not automatically included. Volume, cleanup and repeatability are defined as a separate migration if needed.

When does work begin?

We confirm the start and delivery deadline in writing after reviewing your documents. The agreed scope and complete source data determine the schedule.

Which access is needed?

A documented API, suitable plan and provider test access An existing application with defined data flow and business field mapping Credentials must not be included in the enquiry. Details are agreed only after written commissioning.

What happens after handover?

One written follow-up round is included. The service scope lists the analyses, designs or technical changes covered by the package. We agree additional work with you before it begins.
