A page title should make sense without the rest of your website. Put two drafts side by side and check whether the topic, offer and difference are clear at first glance.
Use for freeWelche Information muss zuerst stehen?
Start with the specific topic of the page. A brand name alone explains little on an unfamiliar website. On a product page, the product type and distinguishing features are usually more useful than a general advertising phrase.
The description can add details that do not fit into the title: scope, use or a specific feature. Avoid repeating the title with different filler words. Check both drafts in the narrow mobile format too.
No character count guarantees an unchanged display. Search engines can shorten snippets or use different text. The preview helps you compare drafts; it does not reproduce a guaranteed Google result.
Example of a specific service page
| Draft | What a visitor learns |
|---|---|
| Willkommen bei Beispielwerk | The name is clear, but the offer is not. |
| Bicycle repair in Cologne · Beispielwerk | The service and location are immediately clear. |
| Bicycle repair in Cologne: servicing & brakes | The title also names specific tasks. |
