You saved a redirect, but the old address still shows its original page. First determine whether the source address is genuinely unavailable. Shopify URL redirects apply to broken or no-longer-valid URLs; saving a rule does not replace an active page.

In a fictional case, /pages/advice/ still serves published content. Repeatedly saving a redirect for that path will not change this underlying condition.

Which content still uses the address?

Find the product, collection or content page using the address. Record whether it should remain and where its intended future address belongs. Do not remove a working page merely to force a test redirect. A planned move needs a deliberate publishing or URL change.

Also inspect Shopify’s reserved paths and other documented restrictions. System addresses such as the basket and fixed directories cannot be treated as arbitrary editorial paths.

Compare the stored source path with the actual requested address. Language prefixes, another hostname or a browser-side redirect can alter the observation. Test without an authenticated administration session.

After a controlled change, record the source, HTTP status and final destination. Use an unchanged product page as a comparison. A redirect is appropriate only when its destination meets the expectation behind the original link.
